All 22 structural parts (per half-pair) of HY, milled from solid aluminum, have been meticulously designed and manufactured to create a hybrid binding that performs as well downhill as it is enjoyable on the ascent. Hy Free unlocks the true potential of hybrid bindings. By combining a lightweight design with alpine-level downhill performance, it allows freeriders to explore without limits. Features

Toe Piece:

• Alpine performance: Provides the same response, control, and security as an alpine ski. The boot sits flat on the ski in ski mode, eliminating the height difference between toe and heel found in standard PIN bindings.
• Compatibility: Fits most alpine, ski mountaineering, and freeride boots.
• AFD adjustment: The Anti Friction Device (AFD) on the toe is adjusted with spacers for different soles:
  • Thin plastic sole → stiff connection, soft spacers dampen vibrations
  • Thick rubber sole → little or no spacer needed, rubber absorbs vibrations
• Smooth transitions: Easy to switch between uphill and downhill mode: lift the toe arms for walking, rotate forward and down for skiing.

Heel Piece:

• Negative Steps: Uphill efficiency by allowing the heel to sink slightly below the toe level, reducing strain and improving stride efficiency.
• Walking modes: Two heel risers for easier ascent, easily activated even with a pole.
• Hy Brake System:
  • Rear ski brake automatically locks in walk mode
  • Ski mode is easily activated by pushing the rear lever backward
  • Safe and easy transition between walk and ski mode
