The Kongsvold WL is a touring ski developed for hunting and winter touring in forest and mountain terrain near the tree line. The ski is constructed without steel edges to be gentle on dog paws, making it particularly suitable for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who venture into the winter landscape with their dogs.

The generous sidecut and soft ski tip make the ski stable, easy to turn, and very compliant in deep snow. The construction provides good buoyancy while making the ski easy to maneuver in dense terrain. The stiffer mid-section allows the ski to be chosen up to approximately 10 cm shorter than many other touring skis without losing stability.

The Kongsvold WL comes with Crown base in the kick zone, which provides secure grip in flat and moderately hilly terrain without the need for kick wax. The ski is also equipped with Åsnes Skinlock system, which allows for quick attachment of an X-Skin climbing skin for extra grip on ascents.

Recommended ski length

Åsnes recommends Kongsvold WL at approximately body length or slightly longer depending on packing and use. The ski works well with 58 mm X-Skin for better grip in steeper terrain, or 45 mm X-Skin if better glide is prioritized.
